    The five-day holiday running from Saturday, September 19 to Wednesday, September 23 (Autumnal Equinox Day), 2026 is not lifting lodging demand in Ehime Prefecture evenly. Tracking listed inventory across 281 properties in the prefecture, ryokan estimated OCC on Sunday, September 20 and Monday, September 21 (Respect for the Aged Day) reaches 100.0% and 99.9% at the latest reading, with properties showing no confirmable listed inventory accounting for 98.5% and 97.0%. The final day, September 23, by contrast stops at 75.5% for ryokan, 63.1% for business hotels and 73.9% for city hotels; compared at the T-45 reading, all properties sit at 63.4%, marginally below an ordinary Wednesday in the same month (September 16, 64.0%). The five-day break is not a five-day peak — it is a peak across the first three days and a trough on the final day.   • Aichi Day-of-Week OCC: Sunday 12.6pt Below Saturday on 92-Day Data

    Aichi Prefecture’s hotel market wears a different face on each day of the week. Aggregating the 92 days of completed-month actuals from May to July 2026 by day of week, business hotels recorded an estimated OCC (based on OTA-listed inventory) of 90.5% on Saturdays against 80.4% on Sundays. Looking only at “regular weeks” — excluding public holidays and the days immediately preceding them — Saturday runs 90.1% and Sunday 77.5%, widening the gap to 12.6 points. City hotels carve the same trough, at 89.2% on Saturdays and 77.6% on Sundays on a regular-week basis. Yet this trough disappears easily depending on one thing: whether the next day is a day off. Within those same 92 days, the two Sundays that were followed by a public holiday averaged 96.5% at business hotels and 93.3% at city hotels — a gap of 19.0 points against the ordinary Sunday average of 77.5%.     The five-day holiday running from Saturday, September 19 to Wednesday, September 23, 2026 is not moving as a single block through Shiga Prefecture’s accommodation inventory. Across 73 business hotels in Shiga, September 20 (Sun) has reached an estimated OCC of 98.8% at the latest observation (T-27), with 86.1% of properties showing no identifiable listed inventory. The closing day, September 23 (Wed), stops at 67.5% (T-30) — and on the identical T-45 cross-section it sat below September 24 (66.8%), the normal Thursday that follows the holiday. The front half is settled; the back half trades like an ordinary weekday. Working backwards from that step, this article sets out what to move at T-45, T-30 and T-14.     On 22 September 2026, B.LEAGUE PREMIER (B.Premier) tips off. It is the first season of "B.Kakushin," the league restructuring that scraps promotion and relegation based on competitive results and instead composes the leagues around business scale and arena requirements. Clubs entering the top tier were required to have a home arena with a capacity of at least 5,000 seats (fixed seats plus retractable seating and club-installed temporary seats). The result has been a wave of large arenas opening across the country over the past few years. So how much lodging capacity actually sits around them? For the 11 venues we could confirm through official sources, this article measures the number of properties and rooms within a 2km and 5km radius using MetroEngines Research data, and converts them into rooms per 1,000 seats of capacity to compare the depth of each catchment. The headline finding: room density within 2km varies by roughly 103x between the top and bottom venues.

    When lodging demand around autumn festivals comes up, the first number anyone reaches for is attendance. "This festival draws hundreds of thousands, so the hotels fill up" is an intuitive line of reasoning, and plenty of tourism-promotion material is written in exactly that order. Line up the October 2026 inventory data, however, and the size of the crowd and the size of the lodging demand do not point in the same direction. A different variable is doing the work — whether the festival is somewhere you can visit and get home the same day. This article takes three festivals held at roughly the same time but different in character, and compares how the room inventory in each host municipality is drawn down using a single yardstick. They are the Kawagoe Festival (October 17–18, Kawagoe City, Saitama), the Jidai Matsuri and Kurama Fire Festival (October 22, Kyoto City), and the Saga International Balloon Fiesta (October 30 – November 3, Saga City).     For the five-day holiday running Saturday, September 19 through Wednesday, September 23, 2026, lining up booking progress for Ibaraki’s business hotels and ryokan at the same observation point shows the two property types moving in opposite directions. At 35 days out from the stay date, estimated occupancy for ryokan reaches 90.4% on Sunday, September 20, the middle day of the break (70 properties observed), while business hotels sit at 69.0% on the same date (156 properties observed).   • Wakayama Silver Week Peaks Midway: Ryokan 93.7% Sun, 82.9% Sat

    This article tracks accommodation demand in Wakayama Prefecture for the five-day holiday run from Saturday, September 19 to Wednesday, September 23, 2026, starting 45 days before the stay date. The headline finding: demand does not peak on the opening Saturday. It peaks on Sunday, September 20 — the middle day, where estimated OCC reaches 93.7% at ryokan (95 properties, 93–95 observed) and 96.5% at resort hotels (33 properties). The opening day, Saturday September 19, stops at 82.9% for ryokan and 79.4% for resorts, leaving gaps to the peak of 10.8pt and 17.1pt respectively.     Snow crab fishing along the Sea of Japan opens on November 6 in 2026. That date falls on a Friday, which puts the first Saturday of the season on the very next day. Looking at room rates across the six Sea of Japan prefectures (Tottori, Hyogo, Kyoto, Fukui, Ishikawa and Shimane) at both prefecture and municipality level, the November increase at prefecture level is a modest +2.4% to +23.1% month over month (2026, forward basis) — while in the towns that host the crab landing ports, rates double or triple. In Echizen Town, Fukui, the settled ADR estimate went from ¥15,521 in October 2025 to ¥49,997 in November on a confirmed basis, a 3.22x jump (the same October-to-November step in 2024 was +152.0%).     From Saturday, November 7 to Tuesday, November 10, 2026, the 38th National Health and Welfare Festival — "Nenrinpic Sai-no-Kuni Saitama 2026" — will be held across 24 municipalities in Saitama Prefecture. It is organized by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Saitama Prefecture, the City of Saitama and the Foundation for Social Development for Senior Citizens, and co-hosted by the Japan Sports Agency. Thirty events will be staged — 26 sporting and four cultural — and Saitama Prefecture has announced an expected turnout of roughly 600,000 people on a cumulative basis, including spectators. Delegations of participants aged 60 and over will gather from across Japan for four days: how much of that can the host prefecture's room stock absorb? This article builds up the room inventory of the 24 host municipalities and, at a survey point 83 days before the opening, compares booking pace against a normal autumn weekend.
