Itoen Hotels (伊東園ホテルズ) is a chain of hot-spring hotels whose standard stay is half board with buffet dinner and buffet breakfast, and many properties add all-you-can-drink alcohol at dinner. The official property list (checked October 28, 2026) shows 53 properties across Izu/Atami, the Kanto region including Gunma and Tochigi, Shinshu (Nagano), Tohoku/Hokkaido and Okayama. As this shows, the drink terms and the dinner style (buffet or set kaiseki course) differ by property. The surest check is whether the plan name on the booking screen includes 飲み放題付 (all-you-can-drink included). Fitting for hotels where the hot spring is the star, the bath gets the highest score. Among individual properties, Sarugakyo Hotel in Sarugakyo Onsen, Gunma, stands out with an overall 4.25 (1,841 reviews). It overlooks Lake Akaya, has an open-air bath, and reopened after renovation as an Itoen Hotels property in July 2026.

Per person, that is about ¥8,400 on a Wednesday and about ¥10,600 on a Saturday. Comparing the same property, Saturday ran about 1.27 times Wednesday (median, 47 properties). The overall range was ¥12,500–¥25,600 per room on Wednesday and ¥16,800–¥33,000 on Saturday. Izu/Atami has affordable weekday rates and suits a weekday trip close to Tokyo. Tips for booking Itoen Hotels for less

• Stay on a weekday: the same property is cheaper on weekdays than on Saturdays. Simply choosing a Sunday–Thursday night can save several thousand yen per room.
• Use early-booking plans: the booking pages have plans such as 早割90 and 早割60 that are cheaper when you book 90 or 60 days ahead. Once your dates are set, it pays to reserve early.
• Look for multi-night and group discounts: the official booking pages let you filter for plans such as consecutive-night discounts (連泊割), group discounts (グループ割) and student plans (学タビ). Some plans lower the per-person price when three or more share a room.
