Kyushu Fukko-Wari Sold Out? 81 Hotels Still Had Plans on Nov 1

Travel Styles

The Kyushu Fukko-Wari (Kyushu Recovery Support Discount, 九州ふっこう割) has not sold out as a whole. Even where the allocation on online travel booking sites or at an individual hotel has run out, some hotels still sell eligible plans on their own official booking sites. Our editorial team asked HotelME, a hotel search app available inside ChatGPT, questions such as “Find hotels that still have Kyushu Fukko-Wari eligible plans on weekdays,” and checked the eligible plans on official booking sites. HotelME is provided by MetroEngines Inc., the company that operates HotelBank. This article reflects official information and search results as of November 1, 2026, and does not guarantee availability or that the discount will be applied.

Key Takeaways
  • — It has not sold out as a whole. As of November 1, we found no prefectural official page announcing that the whole program has ended. Allocations run out one unit at a time: by hotel, by area and by sales channel.
  • — We confirmed eligible plans on the official booking sites of 81 hotels in 6 prefectures, 80 of which also had eligible weekday dates (HotelME data, as of November 1, 2026). HotelME found none in Nagasaki.
  • — No “sold out” label does not mean the discount is still available. Oita Prefecture notes that the discount allocation may have ended even at hotels not marked “sold out.”
  • — Do not cancel your current booking first. The Kumamoto and Miyazaki FAQs state that the program will not cover cancellation fees. It is safer to confirm an eligible plan is still on sale before you act.

Has the Kyushu Fukko-Wari Sold Out? Status by Prefecture

As of November 1, we found no prefecture whose official page announces that the program has “ended across the board.” Allocations run out by hotel, area or sales channel, and the pattern differs by prefecture. In Saga, about half the facilities on the list are marked “reservations closed,” while the Fukuoka list shows no sold-out labels at all. Nagasaki says the coupons for direct hotel bookings have reached the budget limit, and that they may become available again due to cancellations and similar reasons.

At this point, HotelME confirmed that eligible plans were on sale on the official booking sites of 81 hotels in 6 prefectures (HotelME data, as of November 1, 2026).

Nagasaki Direct-booking coupons for both Phase 1 and Phase 2: “the budget has reached its limit, so discount coupons cannot currently be obtained.” “They may become available again without notice due to cancellations, etc.” (checked November 1) Prefecture-wide None found by HotelME
Kumamoto “Sold out” on 277 of 949 facilities (updated October 31, 16:02) Budget allocation per hotel 27

Booking status is based on each prefecture’s official pages and what our editorial team confirmed on November 1, 2026. Facility counts are the number of facilities listed on each prefecture’s list. Why People Say It Is “Sold Out” or “Impossible to Book”

The Japan Tourism Agency says the program ends “as soon as each prefecture’s budget runs out” (Japan Tourism Agency, updated October 16, 2026), and the Kyushu Tourism Organization says sales end “once the handling amount reaches its limit” (Kyushu Tourism Organization). However, allocations do not all run out at once; there are several units in which they end. When you hear “sold out,” it helps to identify which unit is meant.

1. The online travel booking site allocation has ended
The share sold through online travel booking sites and the share a hotel sells directly on its official website or by phone are allocated separately. Saga’s official page shows every allocation via online travel booking sites as “sold out,” while direct hotel bookings are shown facility by facility. That is why, judging only from booking-site screens, it can look as though everything is gone. For a concrete walkthrough of getting the direct-booking discount in Saga City, see this Saga City article using GRACE INN as an example (in Japanese).

2. That hotel’s allocation has ended
In Kumamoto and Oita, the budget is allocated per hotel. Miyazaki says it “closes bookings in turn at each accommodation facility or travel agency whose budget runs out.” “Sold out” here refers to the discount allocation, which is different from the hotel having no rooms left. Conversely, the absence of a label does not guarantee the discount is still available. Oita Prefecture states that “even at accommodation facilities not marked ‘sold out,’ the campaign’s discount allocation may have ended.”

3. The prefecture or area budget has hit its limit
Fukuoka uses area-based budgets, and areas that reach their limit close early. After announcing on September 28 that “direct bookings are suspended outside Kitakyushu City,” it announced on October 8 that “additional bookings open from noon on October 9.” Nagasaki has also mentioned the possibility of reopening. Even if you see a “suspended” notice, it is worth rechecking the latest announcements. For an example of a Fukuoka hotel where an eligible plan was found, see our article on a hotel in front of Hakata Station.

There is one more case: the discount allocation may remain while the hotel has no vacancy. The Fukuoka list says that “some facilities are already fully booked for the eligible stay period” and “please be sure to check each facility’s website before booking,” so “impossible to book” also includes fully booked dates. How much online booking-site inventory dropped on the day the prefectural discount launched, and how it moved after bookings were suspended, is tracked using Kumamoto as an example in Kyushu Fukko Ouenwari: what happened to inventory after it sold out?

How to Search with HotelME in ChatGPT

HotelME is an app used inside ChatGPT. You select it in a conversation and ask in plain language. This time we asked:

“Find hotels that still have Kyushu Fukko-Wari eligible plans on weekdays”

HotelME shows information on eligible plans confirmed on official booking sites. It returns the dates on which an eligible plan was available, a reference rate for each date, and a link to the hotel’s official booking page. HotelME itself does not take bookings or payments, so once you find a date you like, reselect the stay date, number of guests and plan on the linked page to confirm. The setup steps and sample questions are collected in our HotelME how-to article. Searches cover 1 to 5 adults, 1 room, 1 night, and you can specify up to 31 candidate check-in dates (HotelME announcement). Adding a prefecture name or “weekdays” and giving yourself a range of dates makes it easier to compare candidates.

Hotels That Still Had Eligible Plans as of November 1

To answer “Is anything still left?”, we compiled counts by prefecture. These are the numbers of hotels where we confirmed eligible plans on sale on the official booking site, searching for check-in from November 2 to December 25, 2 adults, 1 room, 1 night (HotelME data, as of November 1, 2026). This is not a real-time availability check.

Counts cover only the facilities within HotelME’s scope; this is not a survey of every hotel in Kyushu, nor a ranking of how much allocation remains in each prefecture. Kagoshima stays from December 26 onward fall outside this search range.

Screen of Hotel Gobankan’s official booking site (captured November 1, 2026 JST). Searching for check-in on Tuesday, December 8, 1 night, 2 adults shows the room-only plan marked “eligible for the Kumamoto Fukko Ouenwari campaign” at ¥13,200 for a single room and ¥14,200 for a twin room (total per room, tax included). The plan details state that it is “sold at the price before the campaign discount” and that “the campaign discount is applied after you sign the usage certificate at check-in”; the accommodation tax (¥200 per person per night) is paid separately at the hotel. The table below shows availability for the same plan from December 8 to 14; Saturday the 12th is marked as unavailable (x). Check the official booking page for the latest availability and rates.

What to Check Before Booking

  • The latest status: The tables reflect the versions we checked. Right before booking, recheck the prefecture’s official notices and accommodation list, and the eligible plan on the hotel’s official booking page.
  • How the discount is applied: In Fukuoka, Saga, Kumamoto, Oita and Kagoshima, you basically sign or fill in an application form at the hotel (Oita also requires photo ID, and Fukuoka and Kagoshima verify the identity of the lead guest). In Nagasaki and Miyazaki, you obtain a coupon on “STAYNAVI” after booking the hotel. Miyazaki says that “no discount is applied unless issuance is completed,” and no discount is applied if coupons sell out.
  • Be careful about rebooking: Many prefectures exclude bookings you already hold, and the treatment of rebooking differs by prefecture. Kumamoto covers only new bookings made on or after September 15, and Kagoshima only products newly booked on or after October 14. The Kumamoto and Miyazaki FAQs say that if you rebook a reservation that already incurs a cancellation fee, the program will not cover that fee (the traveler pays it), and Miyazaki also says it is “unclear whether you can secure the hotel again.” It is safer not to cancel your current booking first, and to confirm that an eligible plan is still available before you act. Fukuoka’s guidance for operators states that “switching” a booking made via an online travel booking site to a direct hotel booking is “strictly prohibited.”
  • Nagasaki coupons: To make a change, the order is “issue a new coupon, then cancel the old one.” If you cancel first and the limit has been reached, the coupon cannot be reissued.
  • The cap is per trip: The cap for accommodation alone is ¥20,000 per person per trip (Japan Tourism Agency). Fukuoka, Kumamoto and Kagoshima say the cap stays the same for consecutive nights. Splitting a stay by repeatedly checking in and out may lead to a request for repayment at a later review.
  • Stay period: Direct bookings are eligible for stays through the night of December 15 in Fukuoka, through check-out on December 26 in Saga, through the night of December 25 in Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Oita and Miyazaki, and through the night of February 28, 2027 in Kagoshima (excluding December 26-January 3). A trip that includes any night outside the eligible period is ineligible as a whole.
  • Business trips are excluded: In every prefecture, stays for business purposes are not eligible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Has the Kyushu Fukko-Wari completely sold out?
A. No, it has not sold out as a whole. As of November 1, 2026, we found no prefectural official page announcing that the whole program has ended. Allocations end by hotel, area or sales channel: in Saga, 99 of the 199 facilities on the list are marked “reservations closed,” and in Kumamoto 277 of 949 facilities are marked “sold out.” The Fukuoka list shows no sold-out labels. In Nagasaki, coupons for direct bookings have reached the budget limit.

Q. If it is sold out on online travel booking sites, can I still book on the hotel’s official site?
A. Sometimes, yes. The share sold through online travel booking sites and the share the hotel sells directly are allocated separately. In Saga, every allocation via online travel booking sites is marked “sold out,” while direct bookings are shown facility by facility. HotelME confirmed eligible plans on sale on the official booking sites of 81 hotels in 6 prefectures (HotelME data, as of November 1, 2026). This does not guarantee availability or that the discount will be applied, so check the hotel’s official booking page.

Q. Can I get the discount at a hotel that is not marked “sold out”?
A. Not necessarily. Oita Prefecture states that “even at accommodation facilities not marked ‘sold out,’ the campaign’s discount allocation may have ended.” Even where the discount allocation remains, some hotels have fully booked dates. Right before booking, recheck the prefecture’s accommodation list and the hotel’s official booking page.

Q. Can bookings reopen in a prefecture where they were suspended?
A. Yes. Fukuoka announced on September 28 that direct bookings were suspended outside Kitakyushu City, then announced on October 8 that additional bookings would open from noon on October 9. Nagasaki says coupons “may become available again without notice due to cancellations, etc.” Reopening is not guaranteed, so check the latest announcements.

Q. Can I cancel my current booking and rebook an eligible discounted plan?
A. Treatment differs by prefecture, and many prefectures exclude bookings you already hold. Kumamoto covers only new bookings made on or after September 15, and Kagoshima only products newly booked on or after October 14. The Kumamoto and Miyazaki FAQs say that if you rebook a reservation that already incurs a cancellation fee, the program does not cover the fee and the traveler pays it. Miyazaki also says it is “unclear whether you can secure the hotel again.” Do not cancel your current booking first; confirm that an eligible plan is still available before you act.

Methodology and Sources

■ Data sources

Program rules and booking status are what our editorial team confirmed on November 1, 2026 on the Japan Tourism Agency, the Kyushu Tourism Organization, and each prefecture’s official pages, FAQs and accommodation lists. Facility counts such as “sold out” in each prefecture are based on the list versions noted in the table. Hotel counts and eligible weekday dates are HotelME search results (MetroEngines Inc., as of November 1, 2026).

■ How we counted

HotelME search conditions: check-in from November 2 to December 25, 2 adults, 1 room, 1 night. Weekdays are Sunday-Thursday check-ins, excluding nights before public holidays.

■ Limitations

The 81 hotels are counted only within the facilities HotelME covers; this is not a survey of every hotel in Kyushu, nor a ranking of how much allocation remains in each prefecture. It is not a real-time availability check and does not guarantee availability or that the discount will be applied. Booking status changes quickly, and each prefecture’s list reflects a different point in time depending on the version checked.

Program rules and booking status were confirmed on each official page on November 1, 2026. HotelME figures were compiled by the HotelBank Editorial Team (HotelME data, as of November 1, 2026). Linked prefectural and program pages are in Japanese.
