“ST Hotel Group” (STホテルグループ) is the collective name for group hotels used on the official websites of Shinshu Sogo Kaihatsu Kanko Co., Ltd. (信州綜合開発観光株式会社, established 1965), which is headquartered in Chino, Nagano. As of October 6, 2026, the company’s group site “ST-GROUP” listed 15 properties as cards across six prefectures — Nagano, Kanagawa, Yamanashi, Miyagi, Yamagata and Hiroshima. The 12 properties with published room counts total 901 rooms, and the same 12 have a combined guest capacity of 3,204. This article first answers “what is ST Hotel Group?” strictly within what the official sites state, then organizes the property list, the location types and the price band of each host municipality so they can be checked on a single page, and finally summarizes what investors and operators can take away, viewed as the operation of existing large properties that serve group, training-camp and corporate-training demand.
Metric Definitions Used in This Article
- ADR (average daily rate): an estimated settled rate (tax-exclusive equivalent) calculated by applying a segment-specific adjustment factor to the lowest-plan price level each property publishes on OTAs (two guests per room, per-room rate, tax included). In a reconciliation against property-level actuals disclosed by listed hotel REITs (91 properties, most recent three months), the median error was about 7%. It is an estimate and differs from each property’s actual transacted rates and accounting figures. Area-level ADR is the median of the covered properties (the level of a typical property in the area).
- Listed price (all-plan average): the average selling price of all plans published on OTAs and similar channels (two guests per room, per room, tax included). Listed price (lowest plan) is the monthly average of the daily lowest-plan price. Both show the level of published prices, not transacted prices.
- Room counts and guest capacity: the figures stated in the “DATA” field of each property page on Shinshu Sogo Kaihatsu Kanko’s group site “ST-GROUP”, or on each property’s official website (checked October 6, 2026).
- Data sources: MetroEngines Research (prices); Shinshu Sogo Kaihatsu Kanko Co., Ltd. official websites (property information)
- — 15 properties in 6 prefectures: the number of cards on the “Group Facilities” page of the group site “ST-GROUP” (checked October 6, 2026). Adding Shimonoseki Osakaya Hotel, which appears on other pages, makes it 16 properties in 7 prefectures.
- — 901 published rooms, capacity 3,204: the total for the 12 properties that publish room counts. Including Shimonoseki Osakaya Hotel (88 rooms), the total is 989 rooms.
- — Two large properties anchor the room base: Fujisan Resort Hotel with 225 rooms and Green Green with 206. The highland, onsen-town and training/group types sit side by side at 281–292 rooms each, while station-front business hotels account for 129.
- — Municipal estimated settled ADR falls into three tiers: on the April–September 2026 average, Yugawara (¥18,500) and Fujikawaguchiko (¥17,400) are at the top and Mihara (¥5,800) at the bottom. The home base, Chino, stands at ¥13,100, up 9.2% YoY.
- — What the official sites do not confirm: the entity using the name is Shinshu Sogo Kaihatsu Kanko Co., Ltd. (established 1965), but neither the origin of “ST” nor whether each property is owned, operated or affiliated is stated.
What Is ST Hotel Group? — An Answer Within What the Official Sites State
Start with the entity. According to the corporate information page of Shinshu Sogo Kaihatsu Kanko Co., Ltd., the company was established on March 18, 1965, its representative director is Kenichi Taniguchi, its business lines are ryokan, hotels, real estate and resort development, and its address is 3413 Kitayama, Chino, Nagano. It is known as the operator of Kurumayama Kogen Sky Park Resort (a ski resort) and Kurumayama Kogen Sky Park Hotel, and the same page lists, under “Operated Facilities / Group Facilities”, Kurumayama Kogen Sky Park Hotel, Fujisan Resort Hotel, The Retreatment Yugawara, VAN Square Garden, Kusayu Onsen Kamurikiso, Shonan Relief, Hanayuubi Nihonkai, Kurumayama Highland Hotel and others. However, the page does not distinguish which properties the company operates itself and which are group facilities.
The name “ST Hotel Group” appears on the group site the company runs, “ST-GROUP” (kurumayama.co.jp/stg/), and on the official sites of the individual properties. ST-GROUP introduces itself as group hotels “spreading out from Nagano Prefecture, delivering relaxation and special moments”, and its “Group Facilities” page (kurumayama.co.jp/stg/group/) carried 15 property cards with prefecture labels as of October 6, 2026. The breakdown is Nagano 9, Kanagawa 2, Yamanashi 1, Miyagi 1, Yamagata 1 and Hiroshima 1 — the same composition as when we counted on September 30, 2026. Meanwhile, the “Hotel Overview” page of Fujisan Resort Hotel’s official site lists, under the heading “- ST Hotel Group -“, four Kurumayama Kogen attractions and ten group hotels, and that list includes Shimonoseki Osakaya Hotel (Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi), which has no card on the “Group Facilities” page. Shimonoseki Osakaya Hotel also has a property page inside the ST-GROUP site and appears as a card with a Yamaguchi label on the site’s top page (kurumayama.co.jp/stg/), but it is not among the 15 cards on the “Group Facilities” page. In addition, the top page and the menu also line up Megamiko Sanso, Kurumayama Kogen Hotel and five pensions, so in practice the listed properties differ from page to page. Please read “15 properties” in this article as the number of cards on the “Group Facilities” page, and “16 properties” as that number plus Shimonoseki Osakaya Hotel.
The one external move that can be officially confirmed is the basic agreement on a comprehensive business alliance with MacEarth Corporation, announced on the official site of Kurumayama Kogen Sky Park Hotel on April 13, 2023. According to the notice dated April 11, 2023 attached to that page, the purpose of the alliance is “to develop and expand sales channels for ski resort and hotel operations”, and it cites mutual use of both companies’ sales channels, cost and expense reduction, and services that draw on each side’s strengths. The same document describes MacEarth as an operator of 15 ski resorts, 15 hotels and 6 green resorts, among others. No more specific details of the alliance could be confirmed from primary sources at the time of writing.
Property List — Location, Type and Room Count for 15 Properties in 6 Prefectures, Plus One
The table below lists 16 properties: the 15 cards on ST-GROUP’s “Group Facilities” page, plus Shimonoseki Osakaya Hotel, which is absent from that page but appears on the top page and in the group list on Fujisan Resort Hotel’s official site. Room counts and guest capacity are taken as stated in the “DATA” field of each property page on the group site (the 42 rooms for Hanayuubi Nihonkai also match the facilities page of the hotel’s own site). Note that for Kurumayama Kogen Sky Park Hotel, the group site states “153 rooms (64 standard twins, 4 deluxe twins, 1 suite, 84 Japanese-Western rooms)” while the room overview on the hotel’s own site states “157 rooms in total” — a four-room gap between two official sources. The totals in this article use the group site’s 153 rooms.

Plotted on a map, the picture is one of bases concentrated in Kurumayama Kogen and Tateshina in Chino, Nagano, with properties scattered from there to northern Nagano (Yamanouchi), central Nagano (Chikuhoku), eastern Nagano (Sugadaira in Ueda), the outskirts of Greater Tokyo (Yugawara, Yokosuka, Lake Kawaguchi), the Sea of Japan side of Tohoku and Sendai (Tsuruoka, Sakunami), and the Sanyo region (Mihara, Shimonoseki). VAN Square Garden and The Retreatment Yugawara are shown at approximate positions based on the addresses stated on the official sites.

Room Scale by Location Type — Four Types: Highland, Onsen Town, Training/Group and Station-Front
Sorting the 16 properties by location type gives four groups: highland resorts (Kurumayama Kogen and Tateshina in Chino, Sugadaira Kogen in Ueda), onsen towns (Kanbayashi, Kusayu, Yugawara, Sakunami, Yunohama), locations geared to training and groups (Shonan Village, and right by the Kawaguchiko interchange), and station-front business hotels (in front of JR Mihara Station, near Shimonoseki Station). By room count, the four highland resort properties total 292 rooms, the five onsen-town properties 281, the two training/group properties 287 and the two station-front business hotels 129 — the highland, onsen-town and training/group types sit at almost the same scale, while station-front business hotels amount to less than half of that. What this shows is that the center of the group’s room base is not the highlands of Chino but two large properties: the 225-room Fujisan Resort Hotel and the 206-room Green Green.
Source: compiled by the HotelBank Editorial Team from the official sites of Shinshu Sogo Kaihatsu Kanko Co., Ltd. (“DATA” field of each property page on the group site, checked October 6, 2026). N = 13 properties with published room counts
The character of each type can also be read from the official descriptions. Among the highland resorts, Kurumayama Highland Hotel has a gymnasium/arena, a convention hall (350 people) and nine seminar rooms, plus parking bays for 20 large coaches. VAN Square Garden advertises two sports grounds, a multipurpose hall and group capacity of 200. The onsen-town type ranges widely, from the 6-room Jinpyokaku to the 206-room Green Green; the latter is an “indoor theme park” style property with in-house entertainment such as Fantasy Hall, bowling and a poolside pub, at a scale of 1,000 guests and seven to eight large coaches. Among the training/group properties, Shonan Relief publishes facilities for corporate training and rental meeting rooms, and Fujisan Resort Hotel publishes capacity for 413 guests, 140 standard cars and a group dining venue for 170. The station-front business hotels, Hotel Yassa (41 rooms) and Shimonoseki Osakaya Hotel (88 rooms), can be described as the group’s only urban, individual-use locations. The price-tier structure of Yamaguchi Prefecture, including Shimonoseki, is laid out in Yamaguchi’s 4-Tier Hotel Market, which divides the prefecture into four tiers: Shimonoseki, Yuda Onsen, Iwakuni and Akiyoshidai/Nagato Yumoto.
Price Bands of the Host Municipalities — Estimated Settled ADR and YoY Change
Price bands are shown not per property but as aggregates for the municipality in which each property stands. For the six months from April to September 2026, we line up MetroEngines Research’s municipal ADR (estimated settled ADR; the simple average of each month’s median) against the same period a year earlier (April–September 2025). Chikuhoku, where Kamurikiso stands, has too few covered properties to show a municipal value, so the comparison covers 10 municipalities. Of the 10, five were up YoY — Chino (+9.2%), Mihara (+7.0%), Aoba Ward in Sendai (+6.7%), Shimonoseki (+3.3%) and Tsuruoka (+2.6%) — while Yugawara (-6.1%) and Fujikawaguchiko (-4.7%) fell below the prior-year period. Yamanouchi, Ueda and Yokosuka were flat, within ±2%.

| Prefecture | Municipality | Group properties located there | ADR, Apr–Sep 2026 | YoY | Listed price (all-plan average) | N (properties covered for ADR) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nagano | Chino | Sky Park Hotel / Highland Hotel / Tateshina Park Hotel and others | ¥13,060 | +9.2% | ¥28,420 | 37–38 |
| Nagano | Yamanouchi | Jinpyokaku | ¥11,478 | -0.5% | ¥29,472 | 89–110 |
| Nagano | Ueda | VAN Square Garden | ¥8,901 | -1.8% | ¥23,450 | 41–43 |
| Kanagawa | Yugawara | The Retreatment Yugawara | ¥18,455 | -6.1% | ¥40,267 | 55–59 |
| Kanagawa | Yokosuka | Shonan Relief | ¥11,669 | -1.3% | ¥41,553 | 17 |
| Yamanashi | Fujikawaguchiko | Fujisan Resort Hotel | ¥17,417 | -4.7% | ¥38,303 | 71–73 |
| Miyagi (Sendai) | Aoba Ward | Green Green | ¥10,249 | +6.7% | ¥18,251 | 71–73 |
| Yamagata | Tsuruoka | Hanayuubi Nihonkai | ¥9,476 | +2.6% | ¥26,801 | 46–48 |
| Hiroshima | Mihara | Hotel Yassa | ¥5,767 | +7.0% | ¥15,782 | 17–18 |
| Yamaguchi | Shimonoseki | Shimonoseki Osakaya Hotel | ¥9,141 | +3.3% | ¥27,073 | 40–43 |

By level, the municipalities where group properties stand fall broadly into three tiers. Yugawara (¥18,500) and Fujikawaguchiko (¥17,400) are in the ¥17,000–19,000 band that captures leisure demand from Greater Tokyo; Chino (¥13,100), Yamanouchi (¥11,500), Yokosuka (¥11,700) and Aoba Ward in Sendai (¥10,200) are in the ¥10,000–13,000 band; and Ueda (¥8,900), Tsuruoka (¥9,500), Shimonoseki (¥9,100) and Mihara (¥5,800) are in the sub-¥10,000 band. Fujikawaguchiko and Aoba Ward, where the group has the most rooms, sit in the top and middle of these three tiers respectively.
Overlaying the monthly trend for the home base, Chino, on the prior year shows both seasonality and the YoY change. For April–September 2026, the months that can be compared with the same month a year earlier, all six months came in above the prior year: August was ¥15,200 (+1.6% YoY) and September ¥13,100 (+6.6%). July in particular was ¥13,700, up 18.7% from ¥11,500 a year earlier, which can be read as summer-mountain-season rates picking up earlier than last year. For January–March 2026, the prior-year data for the same months falls outside the aggregation range, so the chart shows the level only.

Listed Prices by Property — Only the Six Properties with Enough Observations
Property-level prices are shown only for the six properties with at least 100 observations in our past six months (April 9 to October 6, 2026): the all-plan average and the lowest-plan level of the listed price (two guests per room, tax included). Fujisan Resort Hotel (7 observations) and Shimonoseki Osakaya Hotel (27) have too few, and Kurumayama Highland Hotel, Jinpyokaku and Kamurikiso have no observations in the period, so no figures are published for them. For comparison, each municipality’s listed price aggregated on the same basis (all-plan average, tax included) is shown alongside.
| Property | Municipality | Listed price (all-plan average) | Listed price (lowest plan) | Municipal listed price (all-plan average) | Days observed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kurumayama Kogen Sky Park Hotel | Chino | ¥40,015 | ¥18,243 | ¥28,420 | 183 |
| Tateshina Park Hotel | Chino | ¥33,445 | ¥17,615 | ¥28,420 | 161 |

| Shonan Relief | Yokosuka | ¥22,756 | ¥16,966 | ¥41,553 | 164 |
| Hotel Yassa | Mihara | ¥15,135 | ¥9,746 | ¥15,782 | 183 |
Source: MetroEngines Research, compiled by the HotelBank Editorial Team. Simple average of monthly listed prices for April–September 2026 (two guests per room, tax included). Days observed is the total number of days in the period on which a price was observed
The four resort-type properties in highland and onsen locations (Sky Park Hotel, Tateshina Park Hotel, Green Green and Hanayuubi Nihonkai) fall within an all-plan average band of ¥33,400–¥40,000 and a lowest-plan band of ¥17,600–¥23,100, sharing a price structure centered on plans with meals. Kurumayama Kogen Sky Park Hotel’s all-plan average of ¥40,000 exceeds Chino’s average listed price of ¥28,400, and Tateshina Park Hotel (¥33,400), also in Chino, likewise sits above the city average. Shonan Relief, geared to corporate training and camps (all-plan average ¥22,800, lowest plan ¥17,000), and the station-front business hotel Hotel Yassa (¥15,100 and ¥9,700) are each priced for their use case, and Hotel Yassa is at almost the same level as Mihara’s average listed price of ¥15,800.
What B2B Readers Can Take Away — Operating Existing Large Properties for Groups, Camps and Training
Seen from an investor’s or operator’s perspective, what characterizes this group is that it bundles, across several prefectures, existing properties designed around group intake rather than new builds. The property pages on the group site carry, as standard items in the DATA field, entries rarely seen on ordinary consumer booking sites — “tour conductor waiting room”, “large coach parking spaces” and “number of guests that can be served at meals” — and the combined guest capacity of the 13 properties that publish room counts (including Shimonoseki Osakaya Hotel) reaches 3,341. Large coach parking is likewise in place — 20 coaches at Kurumayama Highland Hotel, 20 at Tateshina Park Hotel, 10–12 at Sky Park Hotel and 7–8 at Green Green — specifications that presuppose training camps, school trips and group tours.
The revenue opportunity in operating a portfolio like this lies in combining weekday occupancy from groups with weekend and peak-season rates from individual guests. In the home base, Chino, ADR for July–September 2026 rose by +1.6% to +18.7% YoY, so individual demand in the summer-mountain and autumn-foliage seasons is a tailwind on the rate side. On the other hand, in areas where municipal ADR is below the prior-year period, such as Yugawara (-6.1%) and Fujikawaguchiko (-4.7%), one can also see room to build rate with plans for individual guests while securing a base of group occupancy. Fujikawaguchiko, home to the 225-room Fujisan Resort Hotel, is also a market where the number of listed properties grew substantially over the six months of April–September 2026 — 71–73 properties covered for ADR and 270–399 listed properties — and the positioning of a large property with group-intake capacity in a phase of rising supply makes it one reference case.
The other issue is sales channels. The 2023 comprehensive business alliance with MacEarth sets out “developing and expanding sales channels for ski resort and hotel operations” as its purpose, and can be read as a framework in which two operators that each run both snow resorts and hotels send guests to one another and reduce costs. Because the group spans six prefectures (seven including Shimonoseki) while property size ranges from 6 to 225 rooms, building shared infrastructure matters beyond the scale of any single property — for example a unified reservation center (the Sky Park Hotel official site lists a telephone number for the “ST Hotel Group General Reservation Center”) and multilingual support (Hanayuubi Nihonkai has inbound-oriented pages in English, Korean, Thai, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese).
What Could Not Be Confirmed from the Official Sites
This article avoids stating the following items because they could not be confirmed on the official sites or in primary sources. First, neither the group site nor the corporate information page explains what “ST” stands for. Second, the legal entity behind the name “ST Hotel Group” is not indicated, and because the corporate information page of Shinshu Sogo Kaihatsu Kanko Co., Ltd. does not distinguish operated facilities from group facilities, it is not possible to tell from the official sites whether each property is owned, operated or affiliated. Third, the official sites do not state the year and circumstances in which each property joined the group, or the capital relationships. A 2018 press report states that another company made Shinshu Sogo Kaihatsu Kanko a subsidiary, but as the current relationship could not be confirmed from primary sources, it is not covered here. Fourth, for the specifics of the comprehensive business alliance with MacEarth (guest referrals, purchasing, personnel and so on), no published material was found beyond the April 2023 notice of the basic agreement. We will add these points if the companies publish them in future.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Which company operates ST Hotel Group?
The entity using the group name on the official sites is Shinshu Sogo Kaihatsu Kanko Co., Ltd. (3413 Kitayama, Chino, Nagano; established March 18, 1965; Representative Director Kenichi Taniguchi). Its corporate information page lists properties under “Operated Facilities / Group Facilities” but does not distinguish which it operates itself and which are group facilities.
Q. How many properties and rooms does ST Hotel Group have?
As of October 6, 2026, the “Group Facilities” page of the group site “ST-GROUP” lists 15 properties as cards across six prefectures. The 12 properties with published room counts total 901 rooms. Adding Shimonoseki Osakaya Hotel (88 rooms), which has no card on that page, makes it 16 properties and 989 rooms.
Q. What is the price range of ST Hotel Group?
The estimated settled ADR of the municipalities where the properties stand (April–September 2026 average) ranges from about ¥5,800 in Mihara to about ¥18,500 in Yugawara. Among the six properties with enough observations, the listed price (two guests per room, tax included, all-plan average) is about ¥15,100 at the business hotel Hotel Yassa and in a band of about ¥33,400–¥40,000 at the four resort-type properties in highland and onsen locations.
Methodology and Sources
Property information was checked on October 6, 2026 on the top page, the “Group Facilities” page and the individual property pages of Shinshu Sogo Kaihatsu Kanko Co., Ltd.’s group site “ST-GROUP”, the company’s corporate information page, the “Hotel Overview” page of Fujisan Resort Hotel’s official site, the “Facilities” page of Hanayuubi Nihonkai’s official site, and the “Rooms” and “News” (dated April 13, 2023) pages of Kurumayama Kogen Sky Park Hotel’s official site. Price data are values for settled months (April 2025 to September 2026) retrieved at the time of the survey on October 6, 2026; future months are not covered. The data come from MetroEngines Research’s ongoing aggregation of published prices for about 27,000 properties in Japan confirmed to be operating. Municipal ADR is the simple average of each month’s estimated settled ADR (median) over the six months of April–September 2026, compared with the same period a year earlier (April–September 2025). Property-level listed prices are published only for properties with 100 or more observations in the past six months. On the map, two properties — VAN Square Garden and The Retreatment Yugawara — are shown at approximate positions based on the addresses stated on the official sites. Because this article does not set out to rank properties, review scores and comparisons of property or room counts with other chains are not included.

■ Data sources
Property information is from Shinshu Sogo Kaihatsu Kanko Co., Ltd.’s group site “ST-GROUP” and the official sites of the individual properties (checked October 6, 2026). Prices are MetroEngines Research’s aggregation of prices published on OTAs (about 27,000 properties in Japan confirmed to be operating; settled months April 2025 to September 2026).
■ Calculation assumptions
Municipal ADR is the simple average of the monthly estimated settled ADR (tax-exclusive equivalent; median of covered properties) over the six months of April–September 2026, compared with the same period a year earlier (April–September 2025). Property-level listed prices are for two guests per room, tax included, and are published only for the six properties with 100 or more observations. Totals for room counts and guest capacity are simple sums of the figures published on the official sites.
■ Limitations and caveats
Estimated settled ADR is an estimate derived from published prices and differs from each property’s actual transacted rates and accounting figures. Municipal values indicate the level of a typical property in the area where a group property stands, not the level of the group property itself. No municipal value is published for Chikuhoku, where Kamurikiso stands, because too few properties are covered. Matters not stated on the official sites, such as whether a property is owned, operated or affiliated, are not covered.
