The hotel will have four floors above ground and two below, featuring 92 rooms, including suites, a restaurant, banquet hall, and spa. Kyoto’s Perspective on the “Osaka/Kansai Expo”

As mentioned earlier, the rapid hotel development in Kyoto City is influenced by the “Osaka/Kansai Expo,” which will be held for six months from April 13 to October 13, 2025. The Expo will take place on Yumeshima, an artificial island in Konohana Ward, Osaka City. While Kyoto may seem less directly related compared to Osaka City, it is a highly recognized and popular tourist destination for international visitors in Japan.

Moreover, with large-scale events and international conferences expected throughout the Kansai region during the Expo, extended stays by visitors are anticipated, with economic ripple effects estimated to reach 2.91 trillion yen.

Additionally, the “Golden Route,” a popular wide-area sightseeing route for first-time inbound tourists to Japan, includes Kyoto along with Tokyo, Hakone, Mount Fuji, Nagoya, and Osaka. The “Osaka/Kansai Expo” is expected to serve as a catalyst, attracting many international visitors to travel extensively around the Kansai region and beyond.
