Hotel Okura Co., Ltd. has entered into a management contract to operate the Hotel Okura Suzhou (tentatively named, scheduled to open in 2027) in partnership with Suzhou Yuanrong Development Group, Marimo Holdings, Inc., and Sumitomo Corporation, investors in Suzhou Ronghe Real Estate Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Jiangsu Province, China).
Suzhou, located in the southeastern part of Jiangsu Province, is a city of both economic and cultural importance. Its old town, charming canals, and historical sites enhance its appeal as a tourist destination. Suzhou is also an industrial city, especially known for the Suzhou Industrial Park, which has grown since 1994 through joint development with the Singapore government and is recognized as a national economic development zone.
The newly opening Hotel Okura Suzhou will be situated in the upper floors of a mixed-use building housing offices, residences, and commercial facilities. The hotel plans to offer 249 rooms, including 25 suites, with a standard room size of 42 square meters. Facilities include four dining establishments featuring Japanese and Chinese cuisine, an executive lounge, a fitness gym, and an indoor pool.
Additionally, the hotel will have a large banquet hall and five meeting and VIP rooms to cater to various purposes, providing guests with quality spaces and services. Separately, the complex will also feature long-stay rooms and is conveniently connected to the Xingtang Street Station of Subway Lines 1 and 5.
Hotel Okura Suzhou, as the first Hotel Okura brand in Jiangsu Province, will offer services rooted in Japanese hospitality. Okura Nikko Hotels currently operates several properties in the province, including Hotel Nikko Wuxi, Hotel Nikko Suzhou, Hotel Nikko Taizhou, and Hotel Nikko Changshu.
Since its establishment in 1958, Hotel Okura Co., Ltd. has been promoting its “Best A.C.S.” (Best Amenities, Cuisine, and Services) principle, expanding its hotel and related businesses. The company has built a strong global network, offering unique hospitality that blends Japanese and Western cultures.
Currently, Okura Hotels & Resorts operates under three brands: Okura Heritage, Okura Prestige, and Hotel Okura, while Nikko Hotels International has three brands: Grand Nikko, Hotel Nikko, and Nikko Style, along with Hotel JAL City, totaling seven brands. They manage 80 hotels with a total of 24,318 rooms. In September 2019, they opened their new flagship hotel, The Okura Tokyo, replacing the old Hotel Okura Tokyo main building.
