ecbo Co., Ltd. has entered into a capital and business alliance with Keikyu Corporation and has begun a pilot program for a “Same-Day Baggage Delivery Service for Inbound Foreign Tourists” at Haneda Airport Terminal 3 Station starting from August 19, 2024.
This pilot program is rooted in the fact that ecbo was awarded the “President’s Award” during the second phase of the “KEIKYU ACCELERATOR PROGRAM,” an open innovation initiative aimed at transforming mobility, organized by Keikyu Corporation and Samurai Incubate Inc. Following this, ecbo entered into a capital and business alliance with Keikyu in April 2020. As part of this program, a 2019 pilot project at stores along the Keikyu Line successfully stored over 3,000 pieces of luggage, equivalent to 50 times the capacity of coin lockers at Keikyu Shinagawa Station, highlighting issues such as the burden on tourists carrying large luggage and congestion in stations and on trains.

Against this backdrop, the pilot program for the same-day baggage delivery service targeting inbound foreign tourists at Haneda Airport Terminal 3 Station has been launched. This service will involve receiving baggage at a dedicated counter within the station and delivering it to the designated accommodation on the same day. The goal is to reduce the space occupied by large luggage in stations and on trains, thereby ensuring a more comfortable and smooth airport access experience. Additionally, the program aims to verify the needs of the increasing number of inbound foreign tourists and attract more visitors to tourist destinations along the Keikyu Line.

The service, which began on August 19, will be available at a dedicated counter on the 2nd floor of Haneda Airport Terminal 3 Station, located at the back of the KEIKYU TIC (Haneda Airport T3) counter. The reception hours are from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and reservations must be made online in advance or on the day of service.
During this pilot program, the service will be offered at a competitive price of 2,000 yen per item, the lowest in Haneda Airport, with same-day delivery for items received by 3:00 PM. The delivery destinations include hotels and accommodations within Tokyo’s 23 wards, Kawasaki City, and Yokohama City. While delays may occur due to traffic conditions, deliveries are generally completed by around 6:00 PM on the day of receipt. Keikyu Line passengers are eligible for a 500 yen discount by presenting their ticket or making a declaration.
Satoshi Jibiki, head of Keikyu Corporation’s New Value Co-Creation Office, expressed that this pilot program leverages ecbo’s experience and expertise in baggage storage to alleviate congestion caused by luggage on the airport line and improve the in-train environment. Additionally, the program aims to facilitate smooth and comfortable airport access and, in the future, promote “hands-free” tourism, attracting more inbound tourists to areas along the Keikyu Line. Shinichi Kudo, CEO of ecbo Co., Ltd., also welcomed the opportunity to embark on new challenges through this capital and business alliance. By utilizing the assets of Haneda Airport, a representative hub airport in Japan, ecbo intends to create a more seamless travel experience for tourists and business people, contributing to the local community.
