To respond to the growing demand from foreign visitors, Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel will pre-launch the “EXPLORE SHIBUYA” project starting August 7, 2024. Shibuya, a city where the bustling scramble crossing and Center Gai coexist with the serene Meiji Shrine and its sacred forest, is a tourist destination where cutting-edge trends intersect with traditional culture. Additionally, Shibuya attracts many with its live houses, museums, and theaters, making it an entertainment city. The “EXPLORE SHIBUYA” project aims to express the charm of this city as a “fusion of tradition and cutting-edge” and “exciting extraordinary experiences.”

Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel intends to allow its primarily foreign guests (comprising 80% of its visitors) to experience “SHIBUYA LUXURY” by immersing them in seasonal cultures and traditions that enrich the heart. The project will gradually start from August 7, 2024, and fully launch in the spring of 2025. Ahead of the project, from June to July 2024, a “Wagasa Display” was held at the hotel entrance to enjoy Japan’s “Rainy Season.” Various seasonal experience events will be held from August 7, and plans to enjoy Japanese cuisine, such as Washoku and Teppanyaki, are also being prepared.

The “EXPLORE SHIBUYA” project features several events. The first is “Enjoy the Japanese Summer with YUKATA,” a plan exclusive to hotel guests that includes changing into Yukata, enjoying a stroll, and taking photos. The Yukata and Geta used can be taken home as souvenirs. This event runs from August 7 to September 30, 2024, on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and requires advance reservation. Guests can get dressed and have their hair set at the beauty salon on the hotel’s basement floor before heading out.

The second event is “Enjoy the Japanese Ceremonies at the ‘Cerulean Lounge’.” From September 9, 2024, guests can enjoy the richness of heart and the changing seasons at the newly opened “Cerulean Lounge” on the lobby floor. Executive Floor and Cerulean Floor guests can freely use this lounge, which offers self-service tea and Wagashi, providing a cultural experience through sight and taste.

The third event is “Enjoy the Japanese Autumn with Tea Ceremony.” Guests will change into kimonos and enjoy a tea ceremony experience at the hotel’s Japanese restaurant and tea room. This exclusive plan for guests runs from October 1 to October 31, 2024, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and requires advance reservation. In addition to dressing up and experiencing the tea ceremony, guests can tour the restaurant and take home photos taken during the event.

Lastly, the “Enjoy the Japanese New Year” event is an exclusive plan for guests to celebrate the New Year while experiencing Japanese culture, such as Hatsumode (New Year’s shrine visit) and rickshaw rides. This event runs from January 1 to January 3, 2025. Guests can enjoy the first sunrise from the hotel’s 39th floor, participate in Hatsumode, take a rickshaw tour of Shibuya, and experience traditional crafts.

Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel, located a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station, opened in May 2001. The hotel offers modern-style rooms with a touch of Japanese charm, beautiful views, versatile banquet halls, and a variety of restaurants and bars, welcoming guests with Japanese hospitality. On September 9, 2024, the new guest floor “Cerulean Floor” will open, and the lobby floor will feature the newly established “Cerulean Lounge” and “Hospitality Room”.
